🎙️ Asked out loud, not a single menu opened
It's happened to you. It's happened to all of us who love to read.
The name rings a bell, the person doesn't
Page 300, “Venture” shows up again. You know they've appeared before. You have no idea who they are. You flip back twenty pages looking… and nothing.
You picked the saga back up and you're blank
You waited months for the new volume. You open it and can't remember who betrayed whom, or why the capital was under siege.
You googled it and it spoiled the twist
You just wanted to remember who she was. The wiki talked about her in the past tense. Now you know how it ends. Thanks for nothing.
With audiobooks it's even worse
You can't flip, you can't search, you never saw the name written. Was it “Kaladin” or “Kal Adin”? And which chapter did they show up in?
The cost isn't forgetting. It's the stories you abandon.
Every time you lose the thread, the story gets a little heavier and the book sits a little more still on the nightstand. Big sagas become “for later.” The classics with forty characters, “for vacation.” And asking for help is scary, because the internet can't keep a secret. Having a bad memory for names shouldn't cost you the best stories.
We believe asking for help shouldn't cost you the story.
A question should never be paid for with a spoiler.
The spoiler frontier
Kai only knows up to the page you're on. Literally.
You declare your position (page, percentage, Kindle location or audiobook minute) and from then on everything Kai answers is bounded to what you've already lived. What comes after does not exist for it.
Snap the page and you're set
Not even sure what page you're on? Take a photo and Kai locates it for you. You can also just tell it by voice, like a friend.
Ask too far, and it stops you
“That's further ahead in your reading”, and not a single hint slips out. The thrill of finding out stays yours.
Your theories, sacred
Write down what you think will happen. Kai remembers them, celebrates them… and never confirms or denies anything. That thrill is yours.
Talk to Kai
Open the app and just… talk.
You're on the couch, book in hand or earbuds in. The last thing you want is to navigate menus, pick a book and fill out forms. That's why Kai's welcome screen is one giant microphone: say what you need (out loud or by text) and Kai handles the rest. You don't even have to say which book you mean: it figures it out from the names.
Tap the mic and say what you need
Marsh, Kelsier's brother. Save him to your The Final Empire Codex?
Save ✓Kai proposes, you confirm. Nothing is written to your Codex without your tap.
Ask like you'd ask a friend
“Who was Sazed again?”, “where was I?”: without naming the book, without taking your earbuds out. Kai infers which story you mean and answers instantly, only up to your page.
Kai takes the notes
Tell it what showed up (a character, a place, your new page) and Kai drafts the entry. You save it with one tap. Logging stopped being a chore.
And it can talk back
Every answer arrives as text instantly, with a ▶ to hear it. Listening to an audiobook? Turn on auto-voice and you never even look at the screen.
The Codex
Because people aren't the only thing you forget
Where was that port city again? Was that Order one of the good guys? Didn't that noble house betray someone? In a great story, the whole world is a character. That's why your memory in Kai isn't a list of names: it's a Codex of your entire world.
Characters
Who's who, whose side they're on, and what you suspect about each one.
Places
Cities, kingdoms, taverns: where they are and what happened there, up to where you've read.
Organizations
Houses, guilds, orders and empires: what they're after and who belongs to which.
Every entry has two sides: your notes and suspicions on one, Kai's profile on the other, updated only up to your page. And they're all captured the same way: by voice, by text or with a photo.
Three steps, zero friction
Add your book
Type the title and the cover appears on its own. Paper, Kindle, ebook or audiobook, and if it's part of a saga, the characters from the other volumes come with you.
Say where you are
Page, percentage, location or minute. Or tell it out loud, or snap the page. That's your spoiler frontier.
Talk without fear
“Who's this?”, “where was I?”, “whose side are they on?”: say it out loud from the home screen. Short, warm answers bounded to your page. Always.
Your next reading session can start with an “oh right, THAT'S who they were” instead of twenty pages back.

Who's behind this?
Kai LoreSafe was built by Mauricio Zúñiga, a lifelong reader with a terrible memory for names, as part of the Kai family of tools. It's fresh out of the oven: you won't find made-up testimonials here. You'll find a free plan with no card so you can judge it yourself, and a real email (loresafe@kaistrategylab.com) where an actual person replies.
Pricing with no fine print
Every plan includes every feature. The difference is how much you can talk to Kai each month: each action spends KaiCoins, and your plan refills your balance monthly.
🪙 A message to Kai costs 11 KaiCoins; a spoken reply, 57. KaiCoins are worth the same across the whole Kai family.
One charge a year, not month by month, and it renews every 12 months until you cancel.

The questions you'd ask before trusting us with your reading
Can Kai LoreSafe spoil me?
No: every answer is bounded to the position you declared (page, percentage, Kindle location or audio minute). If you ask about something that happens later, Kai gently tells you that's further ahead and won't reveal it. And if you haven't declared a position, it assumes you're just starting and answers in ultra-conservative mode.
What if the AI doesn't know my book?
It tells you honestly instead of making things up. In that case Kai works as your smart notebook: it uses the characters, positions and notes you record (by text, voice or photo) and helps you remember them. A hallucination is also a spoiler, so we'd rather fall short.
Does it work for audiobooks?
Yes, it's one of our favorite uses. You declare your progress by time or chapter, dictate new characters by voice without taking your earbuds out, and see the names WRITTEN with a list in order of appearance, something an audiobook never gives you.
Can I use it without typing anything, just talking?
Yes. The home screen is a microphone: you talk and Kai answers in text instantly, with a ▶ to hear the reply and an optional auto-voice. When you tell it something new (a character, a place, your page), Kai drafts the entry and you just confirm it with a tap: nothing is saved without your OK. And if you'd rather type, you can.
Does it work with paper, Kindle and other readers?
With all of them. On paper you declare the page of YOUR edition (we ask how many pages it has so versions don't get confused), on Kindle the location or percentage, on other ebooks the percentage, and on audio the time. You can also photograph the page and Kai locates it for you.
What if I don't read epic fantasy? Does it work for any book?
It works for any story with more names than memory: crime novels, historical fiction, romance, thrillers with three timelines, classics with forty characters. The examples on this page are fantasy because that's where forgetting hurts most, but the spoiler frontier works just the same with any novel, and with narrative non-fiction full of protagonists too.
How is it different from Goodreads or fandom wikis?
Goodreads tracks what you read; wikis tell you EVERYTHING (including what you haven't read: a character described in the past tense is already a spoiler). Kai LoreSafe is different: a private, progressive memory that answers only up to where you are. It's not an encyclopedia of the book, it's YOUR augmented memory.
How much does it cost exactly, and how do I pay?
The Free plan includes unlimited books and sagas with all features and 300 KaiCoins per month, forever and with no card. The Reader plan costs US$ 1.99/month (or US$ 19.90/year, 2 months free) with 1,500 monthly KaiCoins and advanced stats for your reading. You pay online with a card or your country's local methods (secure dLocal checkout) and it activates instantly. Both cycles are taken out as a card subscription: the monthly one is charged again every month and the yearly one every 12 months, at the price in effect at that time, until you cancel, and you can cancel whenever you want, keeping the period you already paid for. If you would rather not leave a card, you can pay for a month or a year up front with PSE, Nequi and other local methods: that payment does not renew. No hidden costs.
What are KaiCoins, and what if I run out?
They're the honest way to charge only for what you use: each Kai action (a message, a spoken reply, a photo of the page) spends a few KaiCoins, and your plan refills your balance every month. To put that in perspective: the Free plan's 300 cover about 25 questions a month, or some 3 good reading sessions with recap and entries, and the Reader's 1,500 let you talk to Kai almost daily. Voice is what spends the most (57 per spoken reply; re-listening to an already generated reply costs nothing). If you run out, nothing is lost: your library and notes stay intact and you can wait for the monthly refill, upgrade your plan, or buy a small pack. KaiCoins are the same currency across every Kai product: the same amount costs the same anywhere.
Do I have to write a lot? I read to relax.
No. Open the app and say “someone called Marsh showed up, Kelsier's brother”: Kai drafts the entry and you save it with one tap. You can also photograph the page or just type the name. Notes and theories are optional (though once you try them, they become your favorite part).
Does it only track characters?
No: the Codex holds characters, places and organizations (houses, guilds, orders, empires). All with the same protection (Kai's profile only tells what you've already lived) and your notes stay separate. Because forgetting where the capital was also pulls you out of the story.
Are my notes and theories private?
Completely. Your library, characters and theories are only yours: there's no social feed, nothing is shared with anyone, and you can delete a book (or your account) whenever you want. Kai only uses your notes to answer you better.
How do I start, and how long does it take?
Create your free account (just email and password, no card), type your book's title (the cover appears on its own) and say what page you're on. Done: under 2 minutes and you can already ask without fear.
What happens if I stop paying for my plan?
You don't lose a thing. Your whole library, your characters and your notes stay yours and editable, and you keep the Free plan's 300 monthly KaiCoins to keep talking to Kai. If you come back, everything is exactly where you left it, like a good bookmark. And if you were an Early Adopter, your already-paid year is honored until it expires.
Does it work for sagas with shared characters?
Yes, and that's where it shines most. When you add a book from a saga you already follow, the characters from previous volumes are shared automatically, and Kai knows which volumes you've finished to use that context without spoiling the current one.
What if I'm already halfway through the book or the saga?
You start where you are, not from scratch. You declare your position and ask Kai to log in one go the main characters who have already shown up: it drafts the entries, bounded to your page, and you confirm them with a tap. And if it's a saga, you mark the volumes you've already read so they become safe context for the answers, without spoiling the current one.
